The field length is most useful for comma delimited format, and the field position is most useful for fixed format.
For fixed format, the individual category fields can be grouped into one,multi-position category field. For example, fields ACTIVITY_A through ACTIVITY_X can be combined into one ACTIVITY field at position 215-238.
