NRCCUA's nationwide Post-Secondary Planning Survey®, conducted annually in over 22,000 public and private high schools, identifies attitudes, opinions and educational interests of nearly 5.5 million high school students each year. Web Developer

Job Function:

The Web Developer role is a technical, hands-on programming position. The Web Developer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the user experience on web-based applications and sites through interaction with the graphics designers, application development staff and non-technical stakeholders.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Work with graphics designers and web analysts to design functionally efficient, web-friendly graphical layouts that provide a high-quality user experience, both on traditional computers and mobile devices.
  • Bring designs to life using standards-compliant dynamic HTML, CSS and JavaScript and related frameworks (e.g., JQuery)
  • Proactively make recommendations to enhance solution functionality and streamline development processes through prototypes or other demonstration techniques
  • Meet with non-technical staff (as needed) to develop, maintain and enhance product systems.
  • Work within the standard processes as defined within the development group
  • Complete work according to the specifications provided, within the hours allocated, and by the due date requested

Required Education or Formal Training:

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Mastery of traditional and current web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and related frameworks (e.g., JQuery) using compliant standards
  • A passion for creating an exceptional user-experience in web-based interfaces and knowledge of the behaviors and patterns that users demonstrate
  • Cross-browser platform development and responsive design techniques
  • Development within content management systems (CMS) (e.g., Kentico)
  • Knowledge of source control and bug tracking systems
  • Ability to identify, learn and implement new technologies as needed

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required
  • Minimum 3-years of experience in professional web development
  • Experience with Kentico CMS is preferred
  • Experience in mobile/responsive design and development
  • Experience with .NET technologies (particularly C# or MVC) is a plus
  • Experience in all phases of the development lifecycle including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance

Database Developer Level III

Job Function:

The Database Developer (Level III) is a hands-on technical role for a mid- to senior-level professional. The role involves the design, development and implementation of database objects, procedures and processes on the SQL Server platform in support of applications, reports and day-to-day business objectives.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Enterprise Architect, design and develop database infrastructure (tables and views) to support a complex and rapidly changing data environment.
  • Create efficient stored procedures using best practices and current organizational standards to support data-driven applications, both internal and client-facing.
  • Use indexing and other techniques to optimize new and existing objects and processes.
  • Dimensional modeling and construction of data marts in support of data warehousing projects.
  • Develop processes for the ETL of data throughout the entire organization.
  • Generate data to support reporting (ad-hoc and standardized).
  • Follow and help develop database team standards and methodologies; use source control and build management procedures to ensure stable development, staging and production database environments.

Required Education or Formal Training:

  • 5-6 years of T-SQL development experience using SQL Server 2005/2008 platform.
  • Mastery of advanced database design methodologies and experience with database modeling tools, dimensional modeling and statistical analysis.
  • Experience developing database systems for applications built with the .NET Framework.
  • Clear understanding of SQL Server best practices for development of stored procedures, views, tables, security objects, indexes, etc.
  • 3-5 years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services for ETL and other data-driven processes.
  • 3-5 years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Solid understanding of set-based operations

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree related to computer science, software development or related field is required.
  • Work experience in the software development industry is highly recommended.
  • Appropriate certifications are encouraged.

Senior Manager, Marketing

Job Function:

Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all NRCCUA’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both internal and external. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services in the areas of marketing, communications, and public relations. Leads and directs the efforts of the Marketing team and coordinates, at the strategic and tactical levels, with other departments of the organization. This position participates with the advisory board, clients, agencies, media and NRCCUA management in charting the direction of the company.

Description of Responsibilities:

Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations program that will enhance the organization’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications.

Responsible for all organizational marketing, communications, and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, client acquisition and so forth.

Lead and manage the marketing team, including marketing managers and analysts.

Ensure articulation of Organization's desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the Organization, and assure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.

Perform research aimed at creating competitive awareness and helping the product team evolve its offerings. Responsible for editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all NRCCUA publications.

Coordinate media interest and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.

Coordinate the appearance of all NRCCUA print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.

Ensure that the company regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends.

Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events, including planning and budgeting.

Responsible for the achievement of all marketing/communications/public relations missions, goals, and financial objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to management.

Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications/ public relations program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.

Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/communications/public relations function.

Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications and public relations, not-for-profit management and governance, and the specific business of the Organization and use this information to help the Organization operate with initiative and innovation.

Required Education or Formal Training:

  • Minimum of 3 yrs experience in marketing, communications or public relations with 
demonstrated success
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing preferred; graduate degree in a related field is desirable

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills
