Enrollment Power Index®

About

National Research Center for College & University Admissions™ (NRCCUA®) operates MyCollegeOptions®.org, the nation's largest online college planning program. From the same team of online college planning experts comes a new and improved Enrollment Power Index (EPI) personalized website evaluation report. Our extensive reach makes us uniquely positioned to tap into the wants and needs of today's high school students.

The EPI analysis is a comprehensive evaluation of our nation's college and university websites. Each site is evaluated and scored for the presence or absence of fundamental components necessary to take a prospective student through the enrollment process. Current high school students examine each site for key features such as ease of navigation, admissions counselor contact, the ability to apply online, and tuition and financial aid information.

  • NRCCUA has been evaluating college and university websites for almost 15 years.
  • Nearly 3,000 post-secondary institutions are rated.
  • Almost 100,000 college-bound high school students are asked to participate in the project - a smaller focus group then identifies the functional features of each site.
  • EPI serves as an indicator of whether a college or university is meeting or exceeding high standards of web functionality and design and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Benchmarks are research validated and reviewed each year for adjustment.
  • Criteria include page design and navigation, website interaction, online admissions tools, contact information availability, and much more.
  • Statistical tests determine the relative importance of each feature to students.
