My College Options Partners with Leading College Admissions Expert

Lee's Summit, MO - March 12, 2010

My College Options, the nation's largest college planning program, announces its partnership with Dr. Andrew Flagel, Dean of Admissions and Associate Vice President for Enrollment Development at George Mason University.

Through this partnership, My College Options will connect millions of students with Dr. Flagel's advice, counseling and unique perspective on preparation, financial aid and getting into and succeeding in college. These resources are provided in an unrivaled, free, online program at www.mycollegeoptions.org.

Flagel is a leader in using technology and social media to communicate with students about the college planning process and increase college access among underserved student populations. He has been a blogger for many years (www.notjustadmissions.com), bringing humor and often blunt and biting views on college admissions to his audience.

"Admissions is a source of far too much anxiety, and far too much of the information available only increases stress levels, particularly for students and families with the least resources," says Flagel. "The dedication of the My College Options team to developing a more honest, accurate, and accessible site convinced me that this would be a great opportunity to brag about Mason while providing a great service."

The free, online college planning program at MyCollegeOptions.org delivers customized planning content relevant to each individual student along with connections to colleges in an unbiased, counseling-based approach. The information and resources available are designed specifically to tear down the barriers to college access and achievement. This program is giving students the tools to manage and make the most out of the opportunities that are available to them.

"Dean Flagel brings not only tremendous experience in college admissions, but a crucial grasp on digital media, and how students are using the web to plan for college. His 'inside scoop' on the college-going process will be a fantastic addition to the many resources we are already delivering to students around the country," says Ryan Munce, Vice President of My College Options.
